collage with Japanese papers, colored pencil and acrylic
The ginkgo has long fascinated me because it is one of the oldest living tree species in the world. The ginkgo tree is seen as a symbol of strength and longevity in the Chinese culture. This collage was layered with Japanese papers I painted with acrylics and papers I have collected over the years. The three ginkgos were drawn and I used colored pencils on the leaves and then carefully cut them out and collaged them onto the piece.
