More about QUATERMASTER PRESS STUDIO

Quartermaster Press Studio is a collective of ten artist members that produce etchings, aquatints, intaglios, linocuts, woodcuts, collagraphs, monotypes and monoprints using a shared etching press and studio on Vashon Island.

Their mission is to spread the word that contemporary printmaking is alive and well—full of creativity, experimentation and inventiveness. They want to share our understanding of graphic esthetics and our knowledge of techniques, as well as to promote the use of prints in publications and to encourage the collecting of prints by individuals and   institutions.

This diverse group of artists constantly pushes the boundary on techniques and subjectmatter, offering workshops to those wanting to learn printmaking techniques, as well as taking workshops to further expand their creative horizons. The group exhibits an elevated level of synergy in working together to expand the public’s awareness of the printmaking process and often offers demonstrations to bring the process up close and personal to the audience.
