This piece seeks to reflect my feelings about the state of the US. Inequality surrounds us from state to state and marginalized groups are fighting for their rights like never before. The reversal of Roe v. Wade makes this ever more apparent. The image represent stars in different sizes as the power has shifted between the states, blurred lines, torn fabric, blood marks, stitches unraveled and roller painting over parts altogether. In a country that espouses itself to be the best country in the world, I find the inequality shocking and laws grossly manipulated by political and religious groups. The supermajority takeover of the Supreme Court by conservatives leaves human being vulnerable in a way like never before. It does not represent the will of the people but a twisted political and religious ideology forced upon us by political means. Much of our system of laws is based around the rights of property ownership. If we donât own our bodies, who does?
