My father died in December 2021 in the midst of a pandemic. This dress is my expression of mourning for him. The idea came while I lay on the couch, gutted by grief. The inverted sleeves of this larger-than-life garment were cut and sewn as a single piece, then tied in a knot and attached to the bodice. Memento mori.
