Call for Art: The Secret Garden

Vashon Center for the Arts (VCA) invites artists to submit work for The Secret Garden, a unique exhibition transforming our gallery into a lush garden of outdoor art. This special installation runs during the month of VCA’s Garden Tour (June 21-22) - an annual fundraising event. We are seeking artwork suitable for outdoor display in gardens or on patios. Eligible art is any standing art that can be outside in the garden or free-standing on a patio.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Submission Deadline:
All applications must be received by 11:59 PM PST on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Application Fee: None
Maximum Number of Works Eligible: Up to ten (10)
Accepted Mediums:
- 3-Dimensional art that can be placed in a garden or on patio setting.
- Art must be designed for outdoor display and withstand weather conditions with proper care instructions (e.g., bring inside during freezing temperatures).
- All mediums and thematic approaches are welcome.
- Free standing art only, no wall hangings.
Eligibility: Open to all artists.
All submissions must be for sale.
50/50 commission split between the artist and VCA. Note: This commission rate, while widely used by most galleries, is different than VCA's usual 60/40 split with artists, due to its inclusion as a fund-raising event for VCA.

- Artist Name (Include collaborators if applicable)
- Title of Artwork
- Medium/Materials
- Dimensions (H x W x D)
- Price (USD)
Images:
- Submit up to five (5) images of your artwork to lynannp@yonispeaks.com
- Email lynannp@vashoncenterforthearts.org if you want more than five items to be considered.
- JPEG format, minimum 300 ppi resolution.
- Maximum file size: 2MB.
- File label format: ArtistName_TitleofWork (e.g., JoseySmith_AventureTraveler.jpg).
IMPORTANT DATES
- Submission Deadline: May 4, 2025
- Notification of Acceptance: May 6, 2025
- Artwork Delivery to VCA:
- In-person delivery: Monday, May 26, 2025, between 10 AM and noon.
- Shipped artwork (UPS or FedEx): Must arrive by Friday, May 23, 2025 (UPS or FedEx only).
- Shipping Address: VCA, Attn: Gallery, 19600 Vashon Highway SW, Vashon WA 98070.
- Exhibition Dates: June 4 - 29, 2025
- First Friday Artist Reception: June 6, 2025, from 5 PM – 8 PM (PST)
