Vashon Center for the Arts is hosting Chris Beck’s handcrafted pottery collection in its gift shop, March 3 to April 2, 2023. This collection includes casserole dishes, noodle bowls with chopsticks, mugs, candle holders, small salt or soy sauce holders, and more – all crafted with Chris’s signature glazes. The pieces are both artful and beautiful as well as useful – perfect for everyday use.

Chris has been a beloved member of the Vashon art community for over 30 years, and one of the founding members of both Vashon Island Visual Artists (VIVA) and Waterworks Collective Studio.

Chris’s pottery collection features pieces crafted from cone 6 porcelain with various glazes including traditional celadon, bisque black and Japanese inspired dot/sweep design. The casserole dishes come in both covered and open styles, making them perfect for a variety of recipes and they are oven safe. The noodle bowls come complete with chopsticks so you can enjoy your favorite dish in style. And for your morning coffee ritual, check out her limited-edition mugs – each one is handmade with its own unique character.

This collection offers something special for everyone – whether you’re looking for a gift or just want to add some beauty to your home kitchen. With Chris Beck’s handcrafted pottery now available at VCA, you don’t have to sacrifice function or form when it comes to your everyday kitchenware.

Chris Beck’s show is one of VCA and VIVA's collaboration in showcasing high-quality art and crafts of Vashon artists in the gallery shop located in the Kay White Hall atrium.

Hours: Wednesday - Sunday, 12-5pm and during most performance hall events. All viewing and sales in the gift shop at VCA.
