Vashon longtime resident and fine jewelry craftsman Eric Heffelfinger showcases his work in VCA’s Gift Shop. The collection for our holiday gift shop has 20+ new works, including earrings, bracelets, chains and pendants, in gold and silver. Stones in this new collection include opals, pearls, and Kingman turquoise.
Show opens December 1st with extended hours for First Friday, 12-8pm. Regular gallery hours, Wednesday – Sunday: 12-5pm. (Closed Monday/Tuesday).
Show runs throught December 23rd. VCA will be closed for the holidays December 24, 2023 to January 2, 2024
Eric love of jewelry making has extended over 50 years. “I cast my first piece of jewelry when I was 15 years old. Now, some 55 years and over 5,000 pieces of jewelry later, I get the same sense of excitement as the centrifuge spins the molten metal from the crucible into the mold as I got those many years ago, casting my first piece of jewelry. The basic technique I have used is lost wax casting. Fabrication, when needed, is done afterward. The goal of my designs is to be fluid rather than sharp edged. To be water rather than rock.”
